About Amed
Amed is a village located on the east coast in the Karangasem region of Bali. Traditionally a fishing village with sea salt production, Amed and Tulamben have become a top-notch destination for
water enthusiasts of all kinds.
The majority of the diving in Amed and Tulamben is done by shore with the help of porters. For certain dive sites, we work with the local fishermen to hire their jukung boats for the day.

We enjoy warm waters year-round ranging from 25°-30°C (77°-86°F). Typically we see calm and flat seas, making it simple to enjoy shore diving. On average, visibility can range from 12m-25m. During the months of August and September, we can experience bigger waves which can affect visibility in shallow water. Similarly, during the months of January to March, visibility can be affected by the rainy season.
No need to be an Olympic athlete to venture beneath the surface, but we do need you in reasonably good health. Check out the medical form, which is a required document to begin any SSI dive course. If you feel that the answer is ‘Yes’ to any of these medical questions, you will need to be signed off by a doctor prior to your dive course.
